My Journy

I can trace my mom's father’s side through their arrival through Ellis Island. My mother's father's grandmother came through Ellis Island in 1908. She came with her three children, none of which were my great-grandfather. My great-grandfather was their last child and the only one born in the United States. I discover that they were from a small town in the southern part of Italy. Their town is San Demitrios, Crone. The town still exists and I will be traveling there this summer. My family stayed in Cumberland Wisconsin from 1908 until my family moved to Kansas. Most of my 20 aunts and uncles still live in Minnesota and Wisconsin, along with my 40 cousins. My father was transferred to Kansas for deployment in the Gulf War. We have been here since. My husband moved from Canada the same time that I moved from Wisconsin. We met at work and eventually went to prom together, and were hooked ever since. I discovered my love of law shortly after my junior year of college. I was watching my brother-in-law try his case in Topeka and I was just in awe of everything. He told me that it would be very boring, but that was far from true. It was so fascinating. I can’t wait to start law school. I hope I get in. My advice to everyone is, don’t let people talk you out of your hearts desirers.
